What is Muharram? 

 It is the first month of the Islamic schedule. Rather than glad festival, Muslims mark the start of the New Year by consuming the dark clothing of distress and take an interest in grieving get-togethers in which the offerings of Husayn and his friendlies are is one of the four months of the year in which battling is restricted. Since the Islamic logbook is lunar, Muharram moves from year to year when contrasted and the Gregorian timetable. 
Muharram is alleged on the grounds that it was unlawful to battle throughout in the not so distant future; the saying is determined from the statement "haram" significance prohibited. It is held to be the most holy of every last one of months, avoiding is that month when Husayn, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, was fiercely slaughtered in Karbala close by his family and companions in the year 680 CE/61 AH. 
Their affliction is a miserable day for all Muslims, particularly the Shi'a, who hold grieving functions to review the honorable excellencies for which the valiant saints stood and the grave catastrophes that they accordingly needed to endure. The recognition of this fierce slaughter (Battle of Karbala) starts on the first day of Muharram and achieves its peak on the tenth of Muharram, the day of the fight, known as Ashurah and proceeds for 40 days or 69 days.
